Personal details

  • Check that your name and date of birth coincide with those on your identity document.

        Spanish students: Identity card number.

Foreign students from a member state of the European Union: passport, Spanish foreigner's residence card

or national identity card from country of origin.

  • Check that your contact telephone number, email address and home address are correct. Remember that emails sent to you by the URV will generally be sent to your URV email address, even though they may also be sent to another email address in your name.

Academic details

If you have registered for more credits than are needed to complete the degree course and you are still waiting for the final official marks to be awarded for outstanding subjects, you can either:

  • Request the issuance of the certificate, which means that you renounce the marks for the outstanding subjects (you must inform the secretary's office of the faculty/school/campus so that they can annul your registration for the outstanding subjects).

  • Wait until the marks for the pending subjects have been awarded and then request the certificate.

Economic details

If you have applied for a general grant from the Ministry, your degree certificate cannot be issued until the award of the grant has been confirmed. If you have not received confirmation, you must wait until you do. However, you can ask for your status as a grant holder to be withdrawn, pay the corresponding registration fee and then ask for your certificate to be issued. When your grant is finally awarded, the registration fee will be refunded as a result of the new situation.

*Exemptions:

  • Large family (general category) or Large family (special category).
  • Level of disability equal to or greater than 33%.
  • Victims of gender violence perpetrated by a partner.
  • Female students who are victims of gender violence not perpetrated by a partner.
  • Victims of terrorist attacks.
  • Beneficiaries of the minimum living income benefit.

If when you registered, you chose the AGAUR loan payment method, you will not be able to request the certificate until you have paid the full amount of the loan. If you do not want to wait to pay the pending amounts within the specified periods, you must contact the funding organization with whom agreed the loan and inform them that you wish to pay off your fees. Once you have paid the outstanding amounts, you can request the issuance of your certificate.

If, once you have completed the revision, you find that:

  • Everything is correct ⇒ click on "Review of information completed WITHOUT any changes or errors".

You will automatically receive an email from the secretary's office of the faculty/school/campus stating that they will contact you as soon as possible to continue with the process.

If the secretary's office/campus secretariat finds that you are in a position to request the issuance of the certificate, it will send a message to your URV email address and/or to your personal email address informing you of the steps that you need to take to pay the fee for the issuance of your certificate and European Supplement.

  • There is a problem ⇒  click on "Review of information completed WITH changes or errors".

You will automatically receive an email stating the problems that you have identified. You will be asked to send any necessary scanned accrediting documents to the secretary's office of the faculty/school/campus at the same email address.

Once all issues have been resolved, the secretary's office/campus secretariat will send a message to your URV email address and/or to your personal email address informing you of the steps that you need to take to pay the fee for the issuance of your certificate and European Supplement.

Observations

The moment you present your request for the issuance of your degree certificate, your academic record will be closed.

Remember that you cannot request the issuance of your certificate and European Supplement if you are not in a position to do so or if you have already done so on a previous occasion.

Please bear in mind that if you have used your passport number as your identifier, you cannot check your certificate online, as electronic certificates cannot be linked to passport numbers.

When

After you have requested the issuance of your degree certificate, paid the corresponding fee and presented the required documentation, you will receive a receipt confirming payment within 5 working days.

How

By using your URV and/or personal email address.

Observations

  • This receipt for the degree certificate is unique. If you lose it, you may request the issuance of a certificate that contains the information relating to the qualification. You must pay the corresponding fees.

  • When you collect the receipt demonstrating payments of the fees for the issuance of your degree certificate, you will also be given one attested copy of the receipt.

  • You may also request a Provisional Degree Certificate without any additional cost. This provisional certificate is essential for legalizing any document relating to the qualification because the receipt for the degree certificate cannot be legalized. You cannot obtain a provisional certificate until you have been given a National Qualifications Register Number by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Observations

  • If you cannot go in person to collect the certificate, an authorised person can do it on your behalf on presentation of their identification and a photocopy of your identification. There are several options:
    • You have requested it in person at the Secretary's Office or an auxiliary registry by signing the authorisation document and presenting the necessary documentation.
    • You send an email request to the Secretary's Office from your URV account, and attach the authorisation document and any other necessary documentation. If you no longer have a URV account, you may get another one by joining the Alumni programme.
    • You request it via an online procedure:
      • Access the online procedures on the URV Intranet and attach the authorisation document and the necessary documentation.
      • If you do not have access to the URV online procedures, you can submit a generic application form to the URV online registry. Click on the link to the general registry, then on "Access the online registry", fill in a generic application form and attach the authorisation document and the rest of the    necessary documentation.
    •  You have given power of attorney to another person (more information).
  • If you reside in another country, you may request for the certificate to be sent to a Spanish embassy or consular office* submitting the application through online procedures or the URV Electronic Registry. You must specify the entity, city and address to which you want the certificate to be sent. There is a charge for this procedure.

  • The charges for sending the certificate to another country are as follows:

           - Zone 1 (Europe and Greenland) --> €25

           - Zone 2 (Rest of the World) -- > €30
*Before paying for the transfer, find out if you need to carry out the legalisation to ensure that your qualification is valid in your country. The certificate must be legalised in the country where it is issued and this legalisation must be applied by the student or an authorised individual. The Ministry for Universities states that if an authorised individual presents the certificate for legalisation, he or she must also present a signed written authorisation from the holder of the certificate and the holder's identity card, passport or foreigner identity number (NIE) (authorisations by fax or email are not accepted). If the original certificate has not been signed by the holder, the authorised individual must present a letter of attorney confirming their ability to carry out the legalisation.

  • If you live in a different locality or country you may request for the European Supplement of the degree certificate to be sent to you by courier or recorded mail. You will be responsible for organizing and paying for this.

  • In order to get a digital copy of your degree certificate, you must first apply for an appointment at the General Registry through the URV's Online Office, and then, on the date and time assigned, go to the General Registry in person with your personal ID card, the original paper certificate and the written request for a digital copy.
