On 24th and 25th January 2013 was held at the Universidad Europea de Madrid (Villaviciosa de Odon) the "I Encuentro Universitario sobre Sostenibilización Curricular: Diseñando la Educación para una Sociedad Sostenible ".
Dr. Oscar Saladié, director of the DOW / URV Chair of Sustainable Development, presented the study "La diagnosis como primera fase del proceso de ambientalización curricular en la Universitat Rovira i Virgili".
Five strategic lines form the Environmental Plan of the URV. The fifth and last of these lines is the curriculum greening, which aims vision incorporating sustainability in the educational curriculum.
The diagnosis of the presence of environmental and sustainability issues in teaching is the first phase of curriculum greening process. Its aim is to quantify, analyze and assess this presence. This diagnosis has been carried out from an exhaustive compilation of information about the teaching that different organisms and URV institutions available to the university community.
The results show a high awareness of environmental issues and sustainability in the curriculum content of the different studies (undergraduate and graduate) of our university, especially those that analyze territorial aspects, as well as legal approximation of matter. This increased sensitivity is an indicator of its importance and its mainstreaming.
