The Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona awarded writer Joan Perucho an honorary doctorate for his literary achievements on November 10, 2017.
Perucho has written poetry, novels, and articles and has worked as an art critic. One of his most notable works is Les històries naturals (1960), a novel about a vampire set against the backdrop of the Carlist Wars. Despite studying law and working as a judge, his true vocation has been literature, which was recognized with the National Literature Prize (1995).
