Institutional accreditation of higher education institutions
Institutional accreditation is a non-compulsory quality assurance process, in which programmes offered by University's Schools and Faculties and their development, the operational and continuous improvement processes are externally assessed to determine if the quality standards established by the assessment agencies are met. Obtaining institutional accreditation allows the automatic renewal of the accreditation of all Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees taught at the School/Faculty for a period of six years. The achievement of this accreditation implies a recognition of the quality and demonstrates the commitment of the institution with the culture of quality.
The requirements to obtain the institutional accreditation are the following:
- The School/Faculty has renewed the initial accreditation of, at least, half of the official Bachelor’s Degrees, and, at least, half of the official Master's Degrees.
- The School/Faculty has obtained the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) implementation certificate.
