Inmaculada Sastre Miró Social Commitmen Awards, for Bachelor's Theses, Master's Theses, and Doctoral Dissertations
The URV Office of Equality and Social Commitment, in collaboration with the URV Social Council, announces the Social Commitment Awards for Bachelor's Theses, Master's Theses, and Doctoral Dissertations. These awards are named after Immaculada Sastre Miró (1942-2008), the first coordinator of Social Services in Tarragona.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize research projects that address a real need defined in collaboration with a nonprofit social organization, or that have been developed in accordance with the criteria set by the Service-Learning Program.

Throughout her career as a social worker, she fought for the integration of individuals and groups in vulnerable situations in the region. Those who worked with her emphasize her sensitivity to justice, her assertiveness with people, her teamwork, commitment to continuous learning, professional rigor, and her steadfast adherence to principles above political interests.
