Bachelor's thesis: Socio-demographic study of a neighbourhood and citizen participation plan

  • Summary: This proposal comes from the 1st Social Projects Marketplace and was carried out during the 2014-2015 academic year as an interdisciplinary project between the Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Land Use Planning and the Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Students studied the Sant Jordi neighbourhood from a socio-demographic and economic perspective and wrote a proposal for a plan for citizen participation and social revitalisation of the neighbourhood.

Bachelor's thesis: Study of the economic impact of employing people with severe mental illnesses

  • ‌Organisation: Fundació Pere Mata (Pere Mata Foundation)
  • Summary: This proposal was presented by the Pere Mata Foundation at the 1st Social Projects Marketplace and the thesis was written during the 2014-2015 academic year. Historically, people with severe mental illness have had difficulties in accessing and staying in the regular labour market. For this reason, the Foundation has been working with a Special Work Centre since 2005. Currently, the Foundation offers protected work to 90 people who are no longer disability pensioners but taxpayers. The objective of the thesis was to study the economic impact of employing people with severe mental illness.

Bachelor's thesis: Analysis of the elements that affect the employment of people with physical disabilities

  • Organisation: Fundació ECOM (ECOM Foundation)
  • Summary: This project comes from the 1st Social Projects Marketplace and was carried out during the 2014-2015 academic year. Its objective was to help the Foundation improve its services to people with disabilities. The student collaborated with the organisation to gain knowledge of its users and their work experience, and proposed measures to improve the efficiency of the foundation's services. Using data from the ECOM Foundation, students analysed the current situation of people with functional diversity in the labour market of Camp de Tarragona, thus producing a final document of high social interest.
