The Tarragona Centre for Environmental Law Studies (CEDAT)
The aim of the Tarragona Centre for Environmental Law Studies (CEDAT) is to generate and disseminate knowledge in the discipline of environmental law, particularly knowledge about local law, management and administration.
The CEDAT is made up of the Tarragona City Council, EMATSA (the Tarragona Water Board), EMT (the Tarragona Municipal Transport Company) and the Rovira i Virgili University, and it focuses on five main areas of knowledge management: training, research, creating opinion, transfer and dissemination.
Some of its most important activities are the following: graduate and postgraduate programmes in environmental law (Master’s Degree and Doctor’s Degree); research projects in environmental law which are of particular interest for local administrations; consultancy for administrations on designing and implementing environmental policies and regulations; and studies of issues that are of interest to the Camp de Tarragona and the people who live here.
