Beltrán Debón, Raúl 

Raúl Beltrán Debón is a visiting professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (DBB) at the Rovira i Virgili University since 2015. He studied Biochemistry at the same University and did his doctoral thesis at the Institut d'Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV) where he studied the possible modulating effects of polyphenols on inflammation and metabolism in the context of obesity and hepatic steatosis. After reading the thesis in 2011, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Cardiovascular Research Group (2012-2014) and the Infectious Diseases and HIV Research Group (2014-2015) of the IISPV. From then on, he first joined the Chemoinformatics and Nutrition Group of the DBB of the URV in 2015; and finally the MoBioFood Research Group (in 2018). He has directed a doctoral thesis and participated in more than 80 papers published in international journals indexed with 1907 citations that show an h index of 25 according to the Web of Science (April 2020).
