Associate Professor in the University Rovira i Virgili (URV) since 2001. Coordinator of Mobiofood Research Group (URV) since 2019. More than 100 scientific publications in JCR-indexed international journals. High scientific impact and productivity (h-index 27) (WOS-2019). Awarded with three consecutive research awards by the Spanish Government; a fourth was submitted for evaluation (December 2019). Supervisor/co-supervisor of 5 European Doctorates. Projects: Principal Investigator of 1 project and investigator of 5 MINNECO funded projects and 1 Transference Project from-CDTI. Three patents. Evaluator for EU Comission-FP7, AGAUR-Beatriu de Pinós Program, Caixabank Obra Social among others. Research achievents: Elucidating the mechanism of action of proanthocyanidins in their anti-inflammatory effect in macrophagues; contributing to underline the importance of eicosaenoids and epoxygenases in obesity (collaboration with Imperial College, London) and currently, investigating the interaction of dietary componunds with the intestinal tract in their ability to immunomodulate intestinal function in ageing.
