Bruno Argilaguet, Joan Carles
Joan Carles Bruno is Associate Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) of Tarragona (Spain) since 2007and I am qualified by AGAUR to access the category of Contracted University Professor.
He did the PhD at the Chemical Engineering department of the URV on the integration of absorption chiller in steam power plants. In this period I did a research stay at the Carnegie Mellon University under the supervision of Prof. Ignacio Grossmann. Later I pursued my research activities at the Applied Thermal Engineering group (CREVER) in 2000. Since then I worked in numerous projects involving mathematical modeling techniques, data processing, optimization and thermodynamic analysis of energy conversion technologies for power, heating and cooling applications, distributed generation of energy using district heating and cooling networks and micro cogeneration using conventional and renewable energy sources, mainly solar and biomass through gasification. The results of all these activities were presented in 10 PhD thesis and in more than 50 publications in indexed journals and book chapters, in addition to the participation in numerous national and international conferences.
