García Álvarez, María Ercilia
European Doctoral Programme in Entrepreneurship and SME`s Management at Durham University Business School, UK (1992). PhD in Business Economics (UAB, 2001). She worked at Autonomous University of Barcelona (1994-2001). She moved to IESE as postdoctoral researcher at the Family Business Chair (2002-2004). She joined the Business Management Department at Universitat Rovira y Virgili (2004) as a lecturer, where she is now Serra Hunter full Professor since 2010. Principal Investigator of QUALOCIO research group (Qualitative Research in Leisure Markets and Organizations). Senior Researcher at the Centre for Studies in Humanities at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Past president and cofounder of ESPACUAL (Spanish Association for the Advancement of Qualitative Research) (2006-2013). Cofounder and academic Coordinator of SAIC (Advanced Seminar of Qualitative Research) UAB (2006-2013). Her interdisciplinary research has been published with impact factor in different areas of Social Sciences and Humanities where she acts as a reviewer for JCR journals. Her research has been competitively funded and internationally awarded: Best Unpublished Research Paper Award, Family Firm Institute and Best Research Paper Family Business Network. She has also been appointed Fellow of the Family Firms Institute, Boston (2004) where she is a member of the Best Dissertation Award committee (2014-2017). She holds three merits in research and three merits in teaching (AQU).
