Gutiérrez Palomero, Aaron
Aaron Gutiérrez Palomero (1981), obtained his Ph.D. in Geography at the Universitat de Lleida, Spain, in 2009. He is Associate Professor at the Department of Geography of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Spain, and member of the Research Group in Territorial Analysis and Tourism Studies (GRATET - URV). Dr Gutiérrez’s research sits at the intersection of urban, transport and tourism geographies, and urban and regional planning and development. Within that overall scope his recent research interests are (1) human mobility, urban travel and sustainable and healthy transportation, with special interest in tourist regions, and (2) urban segregation, social inequalities and housing instability. His studies are mainly based on primary data collected using a wide spectrum of quantitative methods, and using diverse GIS and spatial analysis approaches.
Currently, he is principal investigator of a national interdisciplinary research project on the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on human mobilities in tourism destinations (COVMOVTUR project).
