Vallès Rasquera, Manel
Dr Manel Vallès is associate professor in Mechanical Engineering. His research activity focuses on the integration of renewable energies in buildings, ranging from the simulation at optimization of energy systems to the design of components and equipment. The research lines cover the development of new absorbers and generators for absorption equipment, analysis of heat and mass transfer processes in these components and construction of prototypes of absorption machines and the optimization of district heating based on renewable energies through mathematical models with economic and environmental criteria to solve multiobjective optimization problems. He has published 43 scientific papers. He has directed 8 doctoral theses and is currently supervisor of 1 PhD student. He has been the principal investigator of 4 projects of the National Plan as well as participating as a researcher in more than 30 public or private financing projects.
