The URV's Official Master's Degree in Computational and Mathematical Engineering offers advanced and specialised training in the application of computational and mathematical techniques to solve problems and propose innovative solutions in subjects as diverse as the optimisation of logistical routes, traffic in smart cities, the simulation of heat transfer processes in industrial environments, the prediction of consumer purchasing behaviour, and the analysis of medical data to improve the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.
The complex nature of contemporary challenges often requires interdisciplinary solutions, and therefore needs professionals with the ability to connect theory and practice, who can solve problems collectively across traditional disciplinary boundaries. The curriculum therefore combines computational techniques, mathematical principles and problem-solving skills.
The main training objectives of the master's degree are as follows:
- To train professionals with the necessary skills to apply mathematical and computational methods to solve complex engineering problems.
- To enable students to use mathematical language to model and innovate in different disciplines, providing formal and efficient solutions.
- To specialise students in the resolution of engineering problems, with advanced computational and mathematical skills in order to face professional challenges in different sectors.
This master's degree replaces the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Computational Engineering and Mathematics that the URV and the UOC have been offering jointly since 2013.
